MEMBERSHIP · $20 INDIVIDUAL · $30 HOUSEHOLD

Stand with
your neighbors.

PLBRA has been the independent resident voice in Park La Brea for forty years. Your membership makes that voice louder, more credible, and harder to ignore.

12,000 residents · 18 mid-century towers · one association
501(c)(4) nonprofit — not affiliated with management
PLBRA speaks for all residents, but paid voting membership is what gives you the power to vote for Board members, run for the Board, and put measurable weight behind every letter PLBRA sends to City Hall. Why membership matters — PLBRA Membership Guide

Member Benefits

What your membership
actually does.

Not a donation. Not a good-faith gesture. Your membership is the mechanism that gives PLBRA standing to negotiate, petition, and push back.

Advocacy
Advocacy that wins

A track record you can point to.

PLBRA doesn’t hold meetings to talk about problems. It holds meetings to solve them. Forty years of specific wins, not symbolic gestures.

  • Asbestos disclosure and tenant protection in the towers
  • City-backed water utility credits after years of overcharges
  • Key fob access secured for every child in the community
  • 6th Street encampment removed from community boundary
Community
Community connection

The neighborhood you already live in, organized.

Monthly meetings at the Park La Brea Theater. Government Day with elected officials. Thursday Night at the Movies. A place where neighbors become advocates — and friends.

  • Monthly community meetings open to all residents
  • Annual Government Day connecting residents to City Hall
  • Thursday Night at the Movies film program
  • Member-only voting rights on Board elections
Information
Information that matters

What management won’t volunteer.

The PLBRA newsletter covers what’s actually happening at Park La Brea — utility billing, tenant rights, safety updates, and active advocacy. Informed residents are harder to ignore.

  • Bi-monthly newsletter covering active issues
  • Community alerts for time-sensitive developments
  • Tenant rights and LAHD protection guides
  • Meeting minutes archive going back decades
Community Voice

We’ve been heard.

These aren’t abstract wins. They are the difference between living in a managed property and living in a community where residents have power.

Like a lot of you, I miss the movies shown in our beloved PLB theater. What we built here was more than a meeting room — it was a place where neighbors became advocates.
